Where is that cord?

So, as you can probably surmise from the title, no pictures until I can find the camera cord.  I brought my dad's camera back from SD, and it uses the same cord as mine, so now I have 2 cameras that I can't load pictures from until I find the stupid cord!  Very frustrating indeed.

Although I haven't been doing any sewing for the last three weeks, I did buy some fabric from the local area.  I went to a wonderful shop in Hot Springs SD called Heartsong Quilts , and it is a wonderful place.  Got some australian fabrics, as well as some scrap pieces.  I also went to a place called The Quilt Place, in Custer, SD.  If you ever are in the Black Hills of SD, they are 2 of the shops you would love to go to.  There is a store called the Mistletoe Ranch and Quilt Corral located North of Hill City, but they are going out of business, the owner is retiring.  The Prairieberry Winery next door is taking over their shop and enlarging.  They have free winetasting, and yep, I have 4 bottles being shipped to me this week, in addition to 6 boxes from my dad's house.  Lots of things that I couldn't see going to charity, or the garbage.  I brought home one of the quilts I made him  few years ago, couldn't find the other one.  Also, an afghan I made him.  When I got home last Saturday night, it hit me on the way from the airport that I will never see him again in this lifetime, but I know he is no longer in pain, and that he approved of the ceremony.  I know this, because as the honor guard was folding the flag over his urn, his camera was turning on and off in my pocket, and it stopped the instant they were done.  I know a lot of people would say that it was a fluke, etc, but I prefer to think it was his way of telling us that he was ok.

Heavy heart

This time, the time between posts doesn't have anything to do with school, or quilting.   I have been in SD, where my father was in the VA Hospital.  They were wonderful with him.  We thought we had more time, that he would get better, but my brother called today, and told me he passed away this afternoon.  I am so thankful for the nurses who took care of him, and who were there when he passed away.  He didn't die alone, and that was my worst fear for him.  He is no longer in constant pain, and is with his mother and father, and I can see him there now, making them his winning chili.  I will miss him so very much, and I feel like my heart is breaking, but I will continue on, and cherish the memories. I love you Dad. Marianne.

Needing opinions

I am looking into getting a larger quilting machine in the next 6 months to a year. So, I need opinions.  I am down to a Bailey

Or a Hinterberg Voyager:

So, does anyone have either of these systems, and would you get them again, what do you like/not like? I would love to find someone in my area that has either of these, so I could try them out.

Thanks, Happy Quilting,
Marianne
